At the dinner hosted by the Insaniah University at the Nikko hotel on Friday 19th, the Rector of the University Prof. Dato' Dr. Jamil bin Osman, launched the theme of the program, "A Journey Towards Wisdom".
The University, he said, was there to achieve its vision and mission by moving with time and performing its intended tasks while preserving the sense of continuity, harmony and dignity.
He added that the University has been implemented 13 years ago and had progressed into a major institution in Malaysia. Insaniah is one of the four Universities implemented by the Malaysian government, including the University Islam Antarabangsa (UIA) or the International Islamic University.
The Rector of the University said while the Insaniah University had a new wing with the introduction of the Islamic Multimedia Faculty, there were other programmes that were offered at the institution. "We have Islamic Banking, Shariah, Usuluddin, Language courses, Accountancy and ICT," he said, adding that the University was getting students from across the world.
The University is making efforts to enlarge its number of students to 20,000 by the year 2010, which will be the year it expects the completion of its new campus that will have the concept of the modelling of the younger generations into new 'vibrant' Muslims with a strong sense of leadership. The concept of the Journey Towards Wisdom is basically to bring the Muslims to realize the importance of learning but also to include Islamic theories into the learning process. This is an important element altogether for the Muslim community world wide to reach the level of 'Caliph' in the quest to strengthen the Islamic community.
On the mission of the University, it is to educate the whole youth by providing unparalleled opportunities in breadth and depth for the concurrent development of academic, cultural, spiritual, moral, sporting and practical dimensions of student life.
It leads eventually to the creation of a versatile Caliph of Allah to be leaders of the new generation of Muslim with all these attributes:- Self Directing, Self Sufficient and Self Financing.
The University also offers the Bachelor of Islamic Banking and Finance programme, provides a strong foundation for future players in the banking and finance sector while the Diploma/Degree in Creative Multimedia aims to produce 'the Creative Khalifah (Vicegerent) of God' who is able to spread the message of Islam through state-of-the-art multimedia products.

I was at the dinner hosted by the Insaniah University College at the Nikko Hotel. First of all, I was impressed by the set up at the Nikko. It is really extraordinary but I was more impressed by the Multimedia production of the University itself. The CEO Mr Akif Emir was great in his presentation of the Multimedia that he said was done by students at the Multimedia Faculty. It is such a good thing that Muslims will be able to produce 3d movies and even create or make their own games! Is that not an incredible stuff? And they expect to get 20,000 people to attend at the University, which is based in Kedah, and will also be based in Kuala Lumpur if am not mistaken. I think they should build this University in other places too, like other countries. This is how they will become an international University.I heard of the pricing for the courses at the INSANIAH. They are very affordable. This should make the University attractive. One more thing, any students applying for a course there will get a Tablet PC. That is great. One more thing, while listening to the presentation, I could not stop munching on the food that was served. I can say Nikko Hotel food is 'excellent'. My father would say it was 'wonderbar' as he always uses some variety of languages to express himself. If I was to eat at a hotel again, I wished it was at Nikko Hotel |
